It wouldn’t be fair to list so many cemeteries without mentioning the final resting places of Trakai’s Orthodox community. Forming a small triangle between the train station and Gedimino, notable things to see here are the bursts of colour created by the Slavic propensity to smother graves in plastic flowers and, towards the top of the hill, the sterile concrete memorial to the Red Army soldiers who gave their lives during the Great Patriotic War complete with a long-extinguished eternal flame.
