Kibin Inn

Kibin, kybyn, kibinai, however you choose to spell it, one of the most popular dishes in the eastern half of the country comes from the Lithuanian Karaite (or Karaim), a mysterious Turkish sect embracing elements of Judaism and Islam who've been resident in the area for 600 years and whose national dish is a Cornish pasty-type affair usually filled with mutton or pork and dripping with fat. Delicious indeed. This strangely decorated Lithuanian celebration of the food is currently the best place in town to try them.

I usually enjoy reading the restaurant reviews done by IYP guide. But this time I have to point out that this review does not do justice to this amazing place. First 90 of your review is of "kibinai" and not the restaurant. And then you say "This strangely decorated Lithuanian celebration of the food" what kind of writing is that? Are you talking about the restaurant being strangely decorated? It is most certainly NOT strangely decorated. It is decorated in a warm country style. The restaurant has a very warm cozy and friendly atmosphere. Due to the combination of good food and warm atmosphere it is generally packed. You might have also mentioned that this restaurant is most "child friendly" in Vilnius. By that I mean that they have created a delightful child play area complete with play house kitchen and a good selection of toys. In addition the toilets even have baby changing tables installed. This is practically unheard of in Lithuania. Kabin Inn should be congratulated for creating an atmosphere that is both warm and family friendly. Not criticized for it.Editors of IYP guide although you are known for making very entertaining and insightful reviews I think that you were having an off day when you made the review for Kabin Inn. May I recommend that you try again?

Really delicious! We have this sort of food in Argentina we call them "empanadas" and they are very popular. I was surprised to find them in Vilnius.
