The winner of the 2011 longest wait for food competition by at least 30 minutes (the total time was getting dangerously close to an hour and a half), René’s various attempts at quirkiness through the connection between its name and a certain Belgian artist are wearing a bit thin to say the least. Bowler-hatted waitresses and the opportunity to draw on the tables may have some in raptures but when it’s all accompanied by a slip in general standards the whole thing can start to look like a bit of a joke. The food is good although by no means outstanding and Belgian beer is now available in several places around the city. When they get the food right here they really get it right, but as with so many places in Lithuania they just can’t seem to get it right all the time.

More than just fun, this restaurant is quite a treat and we had were more than satisfied from our two visits. We stumbled upon this place last week and on that day (once or twice every two weeks) René had freshly flown in mussels from France. They were fantastic!!At lunch for 16 liters(local currency), we had two courses of delicious onion soup and a small beef fillet with a generous serving of vegetables. For dinner it was the mussels (32liters)served with fries and 4 belgium beers. Total price was up around 50 liters and we got a discount because we got our first beers during the 'unhappy'/happy hour. Service was very good and friendliness level, excellent!Amusing comments on the menu. It's a classy place minus pretension. Absolutely recommendable.Maybe a little difficult to find...
...and the portion of moules frites not really generous, may be not that fresh either?Rabbit was so la la, without a side order of frites way too little to satisfy.Lithuanian menues only. It is absurd to be offered some kind of "cancer" as the dish of the day, when it was "crayfish" the friendly waitress really wanted to offer. The Belgian beer from tap is good. Not really a place to go for dining.
