Da Antonio

An old favourite with several embassies in town, Da Antonio is everything an Italian restaurant should be. Classy without any unnecessary frills and with superb people-watching windows at the front, native Italian chef Manfredo Molteni oversees a menu including fresh fish soup, grilled beef fillet and a wealth of great pasta dishes for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. There's a great choice of Italian wines to compliment plus some truly gut-busting desserts for those who can cram a little more in. Also at L. Stuokos-Gucevičiaus 1 (Amberton Hotel), Vilniaus 6/16.

We went to the Da Antonio in front of the cathedral service was apocalyptic waiting time unbelievable griscini were delivered one hour after we arrived food was good with very tiny portion and it was extremely expensive for Vilnius. A place which is blacklisted for ever for us in Vilnius.

I lived in Vilnis for three years, and for me, Da Antonio on Vilniaus Street was the best Italian food in the city. The food and service was great! Of course, I am just an american, so my expectations may not be as high as the post above me. Hmm... I wonder if Greta is still working there? :)

I was living in vilnius for five years, and got the best service and the best food in Da antonio 1. The price is middle, and food is top. The waitress and chefs are very kind, give all you need for a nice evening, and perfect dinner, or as well a business lunch... the complaints from above and VP is becuase if you are treating people bad, then your service will be bad as wel,,try to smile, and you get a smile back.

I came here four years ago, I asked for a 'scallopine al limone' (thin veal in a flour-based lemon-scented white sauce). Instead, I was served a thick veal with tomatosauce! I didn't complain! (I should have). Problem is, Italian restaurants outside of Italy, are never as good as in Italy (lack of fresh ingriedients, lack of Italian cooks). So you tend to be more forgiving ... but now that prices have risen in the Da Antonio chain to almost western European levels I shall be less forgiving in the future!
