Named after the one-time owner of the building this restaurant finds itself, this hit-and-miss Russian affair offers classics such as chicken with smoked plums and blini in a splendid, 19th-century cellar. Although it may not be the best Russian restaurant in the world, it’s practically the only one in Vilnius these days, and even then it generally closes for the summer only to reappear in a modern glass building at the seaside resort of Palanga. Weekends can be exceptionally good fun, with live music, lots of vodka and large groups of diners getting beautifully sloshed.
