Vilnius | Restaurants & Cafés | Pizza

Aimed squarely at the Lithuanian market, this budget chain of pizza restaurants churns out edible food including pizza in four sizes, a few non-pizza dishes and superb espressos in exchange for a handful of buttons. It’s not going to win any awards, but then you get what you pay for in this life. [...]

We’re not sure that Charlie Chaplin ate pizza, but if he came here he probably would (although there are also other options on the menu) and he would certainly dig the cinema-themed decor. Basically this is a cheap gobble-and-go pizza joint that is fast, fun and efficient. Sham [...]

Bright and zippy, fresh and smiley and largely responsible for meeting Lithuanians’ seemingly insatiable appetite for edible circular sauce-soaked carpet tiles, aka pizza. Recent renovations have seen these places rebounding. The Didžioji location is a haven for after-club snacking. The take-away option is also worth considering for stay-at-home types. Also at ... well, just about everywhere: Mindaugo 11, tel. 213 33 88, Didžioji 5, tel. 231 24 62, Ozo 25 (Akropolis), tel. 238 79 27, Konstitucijos 7a (Europa), tel. 275 28 05...

They might be the underdog of the Lithuanian pizza world but actually offer rather good pizza and have furniture that isn't falling apart. Other meals (simple meat dishes, for example) are also above par for such a chain store. No wonder it can be hard to find a seat at lunchtime. Or at 03:00 o [...]

Skin-deep stylish and one of the few places where you can get pizza without having to dive into a cheesy hole. In addition to the pizza there are a few pasta and meat based dishes which are moderately pleasant but overprices compared to similar offerings at no-name cafés and lunch spots. The wine list is a little corker – well above par for such a venue. Also at Vokiečių 24, tel. 212 36 46.

Located in a modern business centre, Pomodoro is used to satisfying people who are in suits and in a hurry. Whether you’re in the restaurant itself or the atrium, the place has an air of brisk bustle about it. Pizza and pasta dishes look and taste like they have been whipped up with hasty com [...]

Some people love the pizza here, but they’re just flimsy and thin. (Ambiguity intended.) Other dishes we’ve tried have also been disappointing. But it’s a groovy kind of place with nice bottom-parking. Nestle-in for a timeless session of chatting, scribbling poetry, changing the world, nibbling, sipping, nose picking, being ignored by the waitress, day dreaming, showing-off your three words of some bizarre foreign language, et cetera ad infinitum and blah-blah diddly-squat.
