England 18 January 2009 There have been improvements at the Hauptbahnhof in Vilnius - good-but this does not hide the fact that the timetable of most services isnot at all useful , being little different from those used in communist days. EG the service to/from Trakai - - useless.With a little imagination , and decent timings, the state railway could attract far more tourists to this attraction. So bad are the timings that I went on the bus - interesting but (let's be honest) fairly downmarket . And - - the line to Trakai is electrified! So a basic hourly service in the day...... I give up .
