Vilnius can and quite rightly does claim to contain the finest examples of Baroque architecture north of Rome, and this alone is reason enough to visit. Plus there are scores of other sights of interest to keep visitors busy for a month, the very best of them listed here.

If you haven’t got a lot of time in Vilnius, the Cathedral, Gates of Dawn, Gediminas Castle & Museum, KGB Museum and St. Anne’s Church are generally considered to be the major sights. This list is of course highly subjective, and in no way reflects the expectations of every single visitor to the city.
