When Amber isn‘t
Strange as it may sound, amber isn’t always amber. It can be something other than amber in colour, while still being amber – fossilized coniferous tree resin – in substance. Then again, it can be a nice amber colour, but actually be made of something completely different, such as plastic, glass or sugar. As amber is a popular souvenir in Lithuania, we thought it high time to sort out these amber ambiguities and offer a few tips on how to spot and appreciate the many different varieties of amber, and non-amber.
