TV Tower Nightmare
On the 13th January, 1991, Soviet tanks stormed the Vilnius TV Tower. It was one of a handful of key public buildings being surrounded and protected by unarmed civilian supporters of Lithuanian independence. Soviet forces were trying to capture such buildings in order to re-establish control of the country which had declared independence on March 11 of the previous year.
