Ambassador - Hotels in Vilnius

A magnificent throwback to an earlier age with a few 21st-century concessions, the Ambassador provides adequate lodging for a fine price with the added advantage of one of the best locations in town. The rooms are a little old-fashioned, but if you’re in the mood for a bargain complete with pleasant staff, surprisingly good breakfast and a cavalcade of top sights on your doorstep, look no further.

The Ambassador is in one of the most central locations in Vilnius, thus the location is a major plus. The rooms are spartan, but clean and pleasant. If you're located above the ground floor and facing the courtyard side of the building, you can safely open a window overnight for some fresh air. The courtyard in my experience was quiet. The receptionists were generally very pleasant and helpful. The TV selection was all in Lithuanian, but you don't come to Vilnius to watch CNN anyway. Breakfast at first looks limited, as the menu had maybe five choices, but the food was good quality and filling. Good value for the price.
