Lodz

Port Łódź

An amazing leisure and retail space that – like Manufaktura before it – caused substantial ripples in the national retail sector. Featuring around two hundred units spread over 127,000 sq/m, the anchor tenant here is IKEA, the first in town (and the largest in Poland), while other familiar names include Leroy Merlin, Zara, H&M, C&A, Reserved and Pull&Bear. Supermarket needs are covered by Piotr i Pawel, electrical wishes granted at Saturn and Euro RTV AGD, while for media there’s the ubiquitous Empik chain. As for dining options, these include the likes of KFC, Costa Coffee, Vegemania and scores more. But woe anyone who thinks this sounds like a description of any modern European mall. Setting Port Lodz aside are factors aplenty, among them a 7,000 sq/m central patio featuring a wooded area, fountains and stage. Then there’s Port Lodz Junior, a supervised kids area which promises to fuel the ‘creativity and energy’ in your young charges. Set in the south this shopping and leisure extravaganza is easily accessed by trams number 11B, 17 and 41, or by bus 68 and 95B. By car follow route 14 in the Sieradz direction.
