Skopje's hotel scene is surprisingly sophisticated, with a wide range of hotels at reasonable prices, and with generally high levels of service. Most hotels quote their prices in euros, although bills need to be settled in denars. Visitors staying in Macedonia are required by law to register their whereabouts during the night, a service provided automatically by hotels and generally overlooked by those staying in private accommodation. The top three categories here are listed according to the Macedonian hotel star system.
