Likening itself to such legendary clubs as New York’s CBGB’s, Ludnice (Madhouse) is a low-budget affair with lots of tiny rooms full of scatter cushions, tables made from washing machine innards, old sofas and a refrigerator. As well as a drinking hole of some worth to those who aspire to this kind of living, the club is most famous as a live music venue, attracting the cream of Macedonia’s underground bands and the occasional group from further away.
