MCM

This dingy club looking like a strip club is actually just a normal dingy club. Adjacent to Gradski Park, it has late opening hours and live music on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. The themed disco nights include Greek on Thursday, karaoke on Friday and house on Saturday. Good dingy fun.

In late October 2010 the defunct MCM club reopened as MCM Kabare. Previously the building was occupied as an English sport pub called Shankly's. The building a historical survivor of the 1963 earthquake was built in 1927 with its creation date prominently displayed on its street face as MCMXXVII. The new owners have given the club a facelift on the inside with wood floors colorful movie posters of old European and American films an inviting bar outlandish stage and an accommodating dance floor. The inside decor boosts cozy couches and chairs in nooks for conversations and a relaxed atmosphere. It's large inside capacity over a typically Macedonian size night club has driven many bar-goers to its doors. The bar design in the main area encompass two of the rooms providing a spacious place to get in a prompt order with the many bartenders.During the winter season with the crowds on Friday and Saturday is standing room only and with only few bold enough to take on cold air for a quick smoke outside. The many bar-goers are mostly local Macedonian usually ranging in the ages of late twenties to late thirties that span the ample dance floor. In addition many foreigners such as Dutch Americans and French DJs have been seen in the club with their Macedonian counterparts. As for music they have different DJs playing primarily reggae and old modern rock. MCM Kabare has been able to comfortably book live bands with its quaint stage that sometimes has the band and their equipment spilling out into the dance floor for more of a personal touch. MCM Kabare has brought in many popular Macedonian venues such as Bei Fish and for a modest cover fee in the winter of 2010. Furthermore the club has a regular live blues duo named <....?> that plays on Thursdays. Likewise South Park the Bank and the Funky Punks play Rock Punk Ska Pop and cover songs at regular intervals throughout the month . Check out MCM Kabare on Facebook by adding yourself to see what scheduled bands are playing and when special events occur next.March 2011 the owners completed a terrace along with an outside bar area for the summer. MCM have been serving their draft and bottled beers in frozen mugs which has been nice for the gradually warming summer. Its massive wood deck invites you to cool off with a frozen mug of beer or a cold coffee. Currently the club runs as a coffee bar during the day running from 0900hrs to 0000 and then runs as a night bar from 0001 to 0300 from Sunday to Wednesday and from 0001 to 0400 on Thursday to Saturday. The head bartender is Sashco and is known for his spicy Bloody Mary cocktail. All of the bartenders and waitresses speak English and even some of them know French Greek or German. Remember before you go out MCM Kabare only accepts cash usually Macedonian Denars (MKD) or Euros. They will not accept credit cards. Rumors about having some finger foods that can be order with drinks may come in the future. This make sense since Skankly's sports bar had a kitchen and a food menu. MCM Kabare is situated next to Gradski Park Vardar football stadium and the upscale Debar Malo. At night it is easy to find a taxi to leave the club as there is always a queue across the street with at least three taxis.
