New Age

Hidden down an unlikely dead-end street, this wooden hut at the end of a small garden is quite likely Skopje’s strangest café. The dimly lit warren of rooms seems fit for a hobbit, furnished with wobbly tables and cushions and with chess and other games to while away the ages. A tea-loving hobbit, that is, with 32 varieties of black tea, 15 green, 38 herbal and 23 fruit teas. There’s also hot chocolate (14 kinds, including the tantalisingly monikered Turkish Viagra), milk shakes and salep, a Turkish drink with cinnamon. New Age also has teacups and home-made tea-flavoured soap for sale, and is gay-friendly.

Ah yes, cats do roam freely. What's unforgettable about it is the smell of cats that permeates the place.....yuck! Otherwise the atmosphere is warm and interesting. We couldn't stay to enjoy it - - the smell of cats was too overwhelming.

I am from New York and I LOVE New Age! I was there a few months ago and I cannot manage to forget the hot mulled red wine. It was as magical as the scenary itself, case and point, ducks and cats roam free all around, just as relaxed as you will be there. I highly recommend this chilled out, psychodelic spot
