Skopje's old shopping mall is a monstrous slab of concrete plonked in the city centre. Filled with shops, cafés, restaurants and clubs, it's certainly a lively place. Facing the river along the Kej is Skopje's premier strolling stretch, with a dozen bustling terrace cafés. Not pretty, but it's central and you can probably find what you're looking for. Shops have different opening times, but all most are closed on Saturdays after 16:00 and on Sundays.
