Armagh County Museum
Wedding dresses, military memorabilia, taxidermied beasts and a display on Ireland's worst railway disaster convey the diversity of this rich collection.
Down Cathedral
Dating back to 1220, Down Cathedral is the site of St. Patrick's grave, and the first Kodak moment for any green-gilded pilgrim.
The grave's carved Mourne granite stone was laid in 1900 by the Belfast Naturalists' Field Club and, while many dispute the site's authenticity, we wouldn't advise standing over it and casting aspersions... especially not on March 17, the supposed date of St. Patrick's death.
Ever the altruist, Ireland's patron saint shares his final resting place with St. Brigid and St. Columcille - both of whom are also depicted in the Cathedral's Saint Patrick window.');

Downpatrick & Co. Down Railway
Do away with town centre parking on parade day by following the brown road signs for Inch Abbey, just outside Downpatick, and ride the wonderfully atmospheric steam train straight to the carnival.
Meanwhile, visitors can head to the Museum - beside the large glass St. Patrick Centre - and admire the workmanship of these lovingly preserved carriages and locomotives. And you can elongate your brief encounter yet further by hiring a train for that special occasion or treating the die-hard railway buff in your life to a Footplate Experience course.');

Navan Centre
Inside the Centre, exhibitions tell the story of Ancient Ireland by following a timeline through the Vanished World of lost myths, the Real World of archaeology and the Other World of the Ulster Cycle - a series of stories based on Irish legends.
Archaeologists continue to unearth important discoveries here, including the traces of a giant Celtic temple, a human skull and the bones of a Barbary ape which probably belonged to a nobleman.');

St. Patrick Centre

The contemporary building and glossy exhibits are impressive, though some of the material may be a bit academic for smaller visitors.
The best bit, though, is the 180° film that swoops across Ireland as it traces St. Patrick's physical and spiritual journey.
Upstairs the Cathedral Garden Restaurant is a self-service eaterie serving decent grub and with views and a path leading to Down Cathedral, St. Patrick's Grave and Down County Museum.');
