Foo Kin Express

Foo Kin ExpressStop tittering at the back... the seemingly cheeky moniker of this laid-back restaurant is Chinese for Eat Well, Be Healthy. And that's just the start of owners Richard and Gemma's feelgood mantra. For not only is their food additive-free and, where possible, locally sourced, but even the cups, cutlery and plates are made from sweetcorn, starch and other eco-friendly materials. Believe us, this 100% biodegradable ethos is not the city norm, so (paper) hats off to the duo. The retro-chic and paper lantern interior blends well with supersized Asian photos and wooden benches. And authentic Chinese food is served in handy Snack, Feed and Feast portions and prices. All this, and a delectably innovative array of ice-creams and shakes (we implore you to try the 'fifteens' flavour), makes Foo Kin a local and tourist fave.

Foo kin has changed, now foo kin express. i got a foo kin feast for £5.50 and a drink for £1 with refills. Its def way better and would suggest it to anyone. the plates, cups and cutlery are made from plants which is a bit different, def very cool and a good thing to do. will be back very soon

I go to the Foo Kin a lot, the food is great, however a few other things could be improved. I was told it is being taken over. They are getting a drinks license and bringing the prices down for both food and drink, cant wait to that as it will only make it better!

    John -
Fookin is an attractive name to me n my mates n i went there once. The price is quite reasonable as you have a wide range choices of food. The food was yummy n the best thing is you can eat as many times as you want, can they still make money like that? But,the drinks are quite expensive compare to other restaurants. I've been to many buffet restaurants in NI. The food was general nice but unlike Fookin they are usually not warm enough possibly because their trays aren't heating well. Overall I think Fookin is the best Noodle Bar in Belfast......it will be fantastic if a £10 buffet includes a pint of coke!!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Since I've been to a few too many noodle bars I know that staff hover wherever you are and try to take your plate when you haven't licked it yet. You get used to it. Just go and enjoy the food!

Food was lovely though I felt out time there was ruined by the constant hovering of the staff around our table even though we arrived 30mins before the put the closed sign up. Customer service was very poor and we even felt uncomfortable going up for 2nds because on of the staff stood watching us. We didn't even have a starter!!!! Worst £10 ever spent. I won't be back and will tell others of my experience

I don't eat to live... I live to eat -
Contemporary and reasonable price. I love going to the restaurant. Its probably the best buffet style noodle bar in belfast, with an attractive, near Botanic Avenue, location. I actually think I'll head there now as it opens in 20 mins. PS. you might NOT want to go later in each session as they do not refil the dishes due to almost closing time, which leaves you with less choice, and sometimes no chow mien or chips left. It's annoying, especially since you pay full price, and your a hungry camper! Overall, yummy. Would be cool if you had a free drink with your meal, as they are rather pricey.
