Hidden Northern Ireland

Hidden Northern IrelandNorthern Ireland-shaped maze at Carnfunnock Country Park, Larne, Co. Antrim
We're uncovering Hidden Belfast, but what about the rest of NI? Add your suggestions below of things to see and do beyond the beaten path and we'll add them to the mix. Here are some to start us off.

OUTDOOR SWIMMING
Otherwise known as Wild Swimming, these wet and wild places to swim have been identified as worth the wallow:
The Rock Pool, Newcastle, Co. Down
Cushendun Beach, Co. Antrim

Lough Shannagh, Mourne Mountains, Co. Down

Soak Seaweed Baths, Newcastle, Co. Down
Eat, sleep, and bathe in seaweed at this urban retreat where the health benefits of this humble plant take centre stage.

THE MAZE(S)
HMP The Maze may now be defunct, but there are other NI mazes in which to spend a stretch:

Peace Maze, Castlewellan Forest Park, Co. Down
Yes folks, NI is home to the world's largest and longest maze. Wend your way through a labyrynth of 600 Yew trees and ring the Peace Bell in the centre.

Seaforde Butterfly House and Gardens, Co. Down - a great above-head-height maze in which to get lost after going eyeball-to-eyeball with those butterflies.

Northern Ireland Maze, Carnfunnock Country Park, Co. Antrim
It's a maze. It's shaped like Northern Ireland. There's even a viewing platform to laugh at the lost. What's not to like?

Funny Farm Adventure Maize Maze, Co. Down This privately-owned puzzle is freshly grown each year to a new design.
