Londonderry's Maiden City Festival

Londonderry's Maiden City Festival
Running from Sat 7 - Sat 14 Aug, Londonderry's 2010 Maiden City Festival brings together seven days of music, dance and drama in and around the city's historic Walls. Tours, performances and exhibitions also bring its history to life, from the Siege of Derry to the story of the Fountain Estate.

Though rooted in the Apprentice Boys of Derry's Protestant culture and heritage, the Festival prides itself in celebrating diversity and tolerance in a 'baggage-free environment'. The week culminates on Sat 14 with the 321st Annual Commemoration of the Relief of Londonderry. Events will include the traditional Walking of the Walls, Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Service of Thanksgiving, pageant and the largest Parade of the year for Apprentice Boys from across the UK and overseas.

So plan your day, your stay or a quick lunchtime break by digesting the full Festival programme at www.maidencityfestival.com/weblog/ where you can also keep up-to-date on the latest news and events. The main website also offers links to the Festival’s Facebook, YouTube and Flickr sites and much more.
