Hostelling International Giant's Causeway and Derry City Two Day Tour

Hostelling International Giant's Causeway and Derry City Two Day TourIf you fancy exploring the glorious north coast and historic Derry City without rushing it in a day, Hostelling International Northern Ireland has come up with a nifty two-day tour that includes an overnight kip in their handily located Bushmills Hostel.

The journey begins at the Belfast International Youth Hostel where a luxury coach awaits to glide you sedately along the Causeway Coastal Route. A tour-guide keeps you well informed as you pass photo-op sights such as imposing Carrickfergus Castle and the majestic Glens of Antrim. And a tea stop at Carnlough's quaint Londonderry Arms Hotel allows you to stretch the legs and take in those fantastic coastal views.

Further north, the trip heads inland along meandering roads criss-crossing beautiful verdant scenery as you approach the iconic Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Time is built in so you can explore the hexagonal basalt rocks and crumbling cliff-clinging castle, and test your nerve with a trip across the 80ft high swaying walkway.

Next stop is the Mill Rest Youth Hostel at Bushmills, a quaint village that's home to the Bushmills Whiskey Distillery - the world's oldest. The Hostel is right in the centre of the village with its handful of craft shops, pubs and restaurants. All rooms are en-suite and a continental breakfast is included in the price. You can also pre-order dinner and/or packed lunch for an extra fee.

Your second day takes the coastal drive to Derry where you have several hours to explore this 17th Century walled city. A fantastic tour of the walls is included, giving you an overview of Derry's turbulent past, and there are plenty of other free - or cheap - museums and historic buildings to explore. Shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants add to the Derry daytrip before you make your way through the Sperrin Mountains arriving back at Belfast around 18:00.

£59.50pp incl. B&B, fully guided coach tour, Dunluce Castle and Derry Tours, entrance to Giant's Causway Visitor Centre and 'fast track' entrance to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
