Take the 30-mile, 90min crossing from the North Antrim town of Ballycastle to Campbeltown on Scotland’s Kintyre peninsula. Three return journeys run every Fri-Mon in May, June and Sept, and daily in July and August. The fleet comprises three 11m long RIB boats with centrally heated, fully enclosed cabins and seating for 12 passengers (no cars). Boats can also be chartered for private crossings and sailings seven days a week. Once in picturesque Campbeltown, attractions include a whisky distillery, pottery and heritage centre, and a selection of cute shops, pubs and cafes. Bicycles can go free and tickets also serve as a free 24hr pass on West Coast Motors, the local Kintyre bus services. If you plan on travelling beyond Campbeltown, Kintyre Express can also arrange coach transfers to your chosen destination.
Single £30, return £55.
