Hillsborough Castle

Hillsborough Castle
This late 18th Century mansion house is the official residence of both the NI Secretary of State and HM The Queen. The Castle was acquired in 1922 as a home for the Governor of Northern Ireland and has been the NI Secretary of State's official residence since 1972. It has witnessed many important political events, including the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and PM Tony Blair's meetings with US Presidents Clinton and Bush. Though not usually accessible to the public, tours are occasionally conducted of Hillsborough Castle's extensive grounds and lavish interior. Check ahead for more details.
