Titanic's Dock and Pump-House

Titanic's Dock and Pump-House
Once the ‘beating heart’ of Harland & Wolff shipyard, this listed Edwardian building houses a 12m deep pump-well whose four engines could drain two dry docks of 23m gallons of water in just 100mins. Of the two, the adjacent Thompson Dry Dock is the largest - and the place where Titanic had its final fit-out. The Dock’s gargantuan proportions give an awesome indication of Titanic’s scale. Guided Tours reveal the engineering excellence behind these colossal constructions.

Inside the Pump-House is a cafe (with free wifi), souvenirs for sale and info panels and audio-visuals recalling Belfast's industrial heyday and Titanic achievement. Find it one mile from the Odyssey, or save your legs and hop off the City Sightseeing Bus Tour that stops right beside the dock.

See website for seasonal prices and opening times.
