Stroll through this outdoor collection of lovingly-restored 18th century buildings and let the costumed guides bring history to life. The transport section houses an impressive collection of steam trains, railway memorabilia, planes and horse carriages. Highlights include a somewhat dilapidated DeLorean sports car, made in Belfast and star of the
Back to the Future films, and a Titanic exhibition. The Museum is 11kms east of the city centre on the main A2 Belfast to Bangor Road. The nearest rail station is Cultra Halt.

People travelling there by train should be warned that if you want to go to the Folk part of the museum (both the rural and town sections) it is a hell of a long walk up two steep hills and across a road to get there from the station.
