It's a zippier version of whowhatwherewhenwhy... so now you know.

Oh my goodness - did you guys go to the same W5? I am from Dublin and as a teacher and a parent I have taken my pupils and my children many times! I have always enjoyed my experience as the staff are so well trained and friendly and we spend at least 3-4 hours a time there. As for educational content W5 is about learning through discovery and if either of you would care to check they actually have all exhibit explanations on their website and even how they are linked to the national curriculum! Okay maybe I know this because I am a teacher but lets be honest W5 is not a ball pool and not a theme park and never pretends to be! And guys - the fact that you spent "2 hours" there with your kids who "Had a really good time" means that your comments ring hollow. I would rather spend time with my kids having fun and learning even if they (and I) am not aware of it. In my books, quality time with my kids enjoying themselves never constitutes a "waste of time"

W5... lets just start by saying W5 is the biggest waste of time. I spent 2 hours there for nothing at all! I only saw useless activities for children which do little to explain what they are trying to get through to children. On the otherhand, it does only cost £4 and keeps the children occupied long enough to have a snack in their cafe.In my opinion W5 is terrible for educating children in science. The kids get caught up in the games without even thinking about the educational side of it, thus learning nothing. I wont be back.

I think that the W5 is a good place to go but it is too over compensated. It is a fun place for children to go for the day but that doesnt necessarily mean that they will learn anything from the day out. The W5 is a good place for tourists to go. The activites in W5 are only there for enjoyment and not there for learning anything.Although the W5 is very cheap which means your children could have a really good time at a very low price. But in all thats the only thing the W5 is good for.
