Red Panda

  Odyssey complex, 2 Queens Quay      (+44) (0)28 9080 8700     more than a year ago
An incredible twelve-page menu certainly offers diners plenty of choice in this equally capacious Chinese restaurant. With seating for 120 in its contemporary setting, there's oodles of elbow room for groups, power lunchers, families and intimate dining à deux.

I have eaten in the red panda in the odyssey several times which was excellent, could not fault anything.I have tried the one in the city centre and unfortunately i can not say the same about it the staff were slow to notice you needed something but quick to lift your plate and the food was just ok but no where near in the same league as the one in the odyssey.

I and a work friend have dined at this restaurant for many years, and always found the staff most helpful, and they do remember your previous visits, even to the very table you choose to sit. I only recently was extremely ill, and the staff were excellent in their dealings in this instance. They organised a wheelchair to be brought to the restaurant, and the car to be brought inside the barriers, I had taken a very bad bug very suddenly and unfortunately had been so weak, I could hardly walk to the door of the restaurant without assistant. All the staff including the management were extremely helpful, and I could not commend them highly enough.

Have dined at the red panda oddessey 3times through work and I was'nt impressed on any of the occassions. It's rushed. The food is served too quickly and the waitng staff lift your plate almost as soon as you finish so you you feel like youv'e been 'shipped in and shipped out.'The food is okay but quite bland.Far from the best chinese in belfast because it caters for the masses and there's no relaxed atmosphere. It's a forgetable experience.
