George's of the Market

Overlooking historic St. George’s Market, the setting for this contemporary restaurant couldn’t be more appropriate. Many ingredients used in its dishes are sourced from market traders, including Ardglass mussels and pork and dulse (seaweed) sausages. Treat yourself to the award-winning Ulster Fry, possibly the city's most elegant version of this local classic. The stylish interior and its balcony seating boast weekend market views, so you can pinpoint the provenance of your plate. And the equally elegant bar area is ideal for a pre and post dinner tipple.

I have just decided that St George's Bar and Grill is the one and only place to go for something to eat in Belfast. Since we discovered it on Valentines night (through Facebook) we haven't eaten out anywhere else. The food is fantastic and the service is friendly and second to none. We have been spreading the word of how good the food is and have introduced many of our friends to the wonderful delights that awaits them. It is the jewel in Belfast's crown.

I have just had another lovely meal, my office colleagues agreed that the food was beautifully cooked and presented (try the champ, it’s to die for, creamy and buttery). I have been to the St. George’s Market Bar & Grill three times since it re-opened, food excellent, service excellent. Give it a go, try their fish dishes, try anything, I haven’t been disappointed yet.
