The first house was built in 1622 and the current Beech Hill dates back to 1729 under owner Captain Thomas Skipton whose family included leading scholars, merchants and adventurers of their age.
The Hotel is a harmonious mix of traditional country house and a modern wing. Its 27 ensuite bedrooms are individually furnished and feature modern facilities and antique furniture.
Suites and deluxe rooms have king size beds, Internet, air con and garden views.. no doubt enjoyed by previous VIP guests Bill & Hillary Clinton and US fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.
The gym, Jacuzzi, aromatherapy steam room and sauna are welcome touches. And personal massage, reflexology and Reiki sessions will help loosen 21st Century knots.
Staff can organise golf, equestrian, fishing and sightseeing in the area, and there's even an on-site 9 hole golf course.
After all that activity, recharge your batteries at the Hotel's Ardmore Restaurant where local produce, organic meats and fresh seafood are all on the menu, then enjoy a glass of stout by the fire at the Gallery Lounge.
A delightful alternative to the city mêlée.
