Getting there

Getting to the Park of Culture & Recreation from Katowice is as easy as hopping on a tram or bus. There are four tram and bus stops along the course of the park: 'WPKiW Wesołe Miasteczko'  (amusement park), 'WPKiW Śląski Ogród Zoologiczny' (the zoo), 'WPKiW Wejście Główne' (main entrance) and 'Chorzów Stadion Śląski' (Silesian Stadium). Take trams 6, 19 (which you can catch on Katowice’s Rynek) or 11; or buses 6, 820, 830 or 840 (getting off at WPKiW Śląski Ogród Zoologiczny). Although Chorzów is technically in zone 2 of Katowice’s public transport system, with a zone 1 standard fare of 2.80zł you can travel as far as the Chorzów Stadion Śląski bus stop.
