If there were such a thing as the beaten path in Katowice, Stek House would certainly be off it, but it's worth seeking out if you're feeling particularly rapacious. With a variety of choice cuts for carnivors, including grilled salmon steak (32zł), steak with gorgonzola sauce (44zł) and steak with feta cheese and garlic butter, the soups are also delicious, highlighted by the goulash and creme of brocolli with smoked salmon and roasted almonds. Though there's no English menu, the staff are happy to help translate. The intimate courtyard in front of this ivy-covered building is a delightful spot to dig in and drink the German beer on tap (Tucher).
