Situated on the old towns right flank is St Andrew’s, a looming neo-Gothic wonder built between 1900 and 1903. Designed by Berlin architect Heinrich Seeling it originally served the Evangelical community before being claimed by the Catholic church in 1946. The 42 ton Sauer organ dates from 1905 and is allegedly one of the finest in town, or at least it was until it broke; the hefty 1 million zł repair bill means it will probably stay that way.
