This newly-built archeological museum is a welcome addition to the open-air site, helpfully adding plenty of context to what everyday life was like at Biskupin during its heyday. Visitors learn how the residents went about hunting, running a household and moving into a more agrarian lifestyle with the introduction of farming. Further trinkets like bronze pieces and pottery are on display, and the museum attempts to tackle one of the site’s most enduring mysteries: what led to the site’s demise as a settlement. An adjoining room features unrelated odds and ends like porcelain doll heads and old shoes with no English translations – or obvious explanation of why they’re on display. Stick to the Biskupin-related room and the visit will be well worth your time.
Admission 8/6zł. Guided tours 110zł.
