Brattleboro 03 January 2009 Frombork is very beautifully situated, full of Polish/Prussian medieval history, and definitely worth the trip from Gdansk. There are wonderful pictures to be had of the cathdral against any sky and in any light. The cathedral and museum complex are worth about 2 hours' visit, perhaps more on a warm summer's day. Wonderful views of the Gulf of Gdansk from the museum tower. The restaurants are decent for a small town, and certainly cheaper than Gdansk. The more adventurous can take a PKS bus six miles up to Braniewo to the Russian border, for a bit of a "Len Deighton" effect to their trip. People should take a look at the farmsteads on the narrow road between Elblag and Frombork to get an idea of what former East Prussia looked like. Not much has changed since the war.
