This is something you don't see everyday: an exhibition of work by a father and son. The
father, Jacek Malczewski, is the most eminent representative of Polish Symbolism. He mostly painted those closest to him: his family and the intellectual elite of Kraków - artists writers. He also did a number of self-portraits. Meanwhile his son, and friend of Witkacy, Karol Szymanowski, Kornel Makuszyński and the Iwaszkiewicz family, wasn't as successful as his old man, but also developed a unique style and is certainly under-rated. His favourite subject was landscapes, especially of the Tatra mountains and railways.
