Food & Drink

Dining in Gdańsk has still not reached the levels you'd expect from a tourist destination but things are improving. The figures in brackets denote the approximate price of the cheapest and dearest main course on the menu. The opening hours we list are flexible and are rough guidelines as to when you can expect the chef to be working. If business is slow people will have no qualms about shutting early. Service in general has improved considerably, though Poland’s accession to the EU has seen a migration of many of the better staff to brighter climes. You may have to be patient.

Perfectly cooked food, nice menu choice and a welcome find in Hungarian Tokaji wine. Attentive service and recommendations on the menu. The decor was welcoming with hints of olde worlde Poland in the tasteful designs. One of the better restaurant[...]

Very relaxed atmosphere. Lots of trade - from businessmen to young couples. Reasonably priced and well-cooked, tasty food. Would definitely go back and recommend to others. The mental orange colours in the review aren't that mental...more of a [...]

Good place. Good quality food, quick service, reasonable (though more on the expensive side) prices. The atmosphere is nothing special and is probably more suitable for 40+ age group (no offence please!) and men, but we still had a great time (we ar[...]

Absolutely stunning. Have eaten here twice: not a single dish could have been improved on. Superb starters followed by even better main courses and finished with sublime desserts, all with flawless service. And all at a price noticeably lower than t[...]

We really LIKE this place! Only a handful of tables though. Try the hot tea with confitura, the chicken pot pie, the lamb dishes, and the GREAT Soljanka soup. Prices are cheap, interior interesting...what's not to like??[...]

This place was awesome when it first opened. GREAT desserts. However, they do change the menu from time to time and favorite dishes can disappear. We've always been able to find something we liked though. The interior is quite charming (take a t[...]

Had my intention been to come and leer at the staff I'd have been disappointed. As I needed feeding and watering quickly it was ideal. Service was prompt, food edible, beer cold, price cheap. Wouldn't make a habit of this place though.[...]

The food was excellent, service could have used a bit more charm. Two suggestions: poppadums and side orders of veg curry. Two mains, two naan and rice were simply too much for one![...]

I am not sure that sitting in a dank, dark basement really quailifies as being an enviable location. The food however, is excellent. Probably the best in the old town area. Just make sure you are a smoker before you venture in as there is NO ventila[...]
