Kraków Main Bus Station

  ul. Bosacka 18      (+48) 703 40 33 40     more than a year ago

Although somewhat integrated into the Kraków Glówny underground transportation centre, Kraków retains its own semi-separate bus station, located directly east of Galeria Krakowska and the train platforms. Recently 'modernised' (codeword for 'filled with commercial shopping space'), the station comprises two floors with access to two levels of bus departure gates. Inside the top floor of the bus station proper you’ll find ticket windows (open 06:00-20:45; tickets can also be bought downstairs at the -1 level 05:00-21:30), food vendors, currency exchange (kantor), ATM (bankomat) and information point (open 06:00-21:00; Sun 06:00-20:00). When the main hall is closed between 22:00 and 06:00, a separate night time waiting room is available with access to the toilets and left luggage lockers.

Those arriving to Kraków by bus will find taxis nearby on both the upper and lower floors, as well connections to public transport nearby (use krakow.jakdojade.pl for route planning). Located within easy walking distance of most Old Town attractions, unfortunately the most direct way to the market square is underground through the Kraków Główny train and transit centre; follow the clearly marked signs for ‘Stare Miasto’ (Old Town) or ‘ul. Lubicz’ to avoid losing your way and ensure you exit in the direction of the market square.

Bus is your best option for travel to Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains, with frequent departures for the two hour journey. For exact departure times check the website which is also in English. Mini-bus is actually your best option for getting to some popular destinations like Ojców and Niepołomice; note that mini-buses do not leave from this station.

For day excursions or bus departures from Kraków to other destinations the journey planning website e-podroznik.pl is your friend.
