In Kraków every year there is a competition supporting the local tradition of creating Christmas cribs or 'szopki' - a unique amalgamation of nativity scene, gingerbread house and dollhouse; see our Christmas feature on page 8 for more. On December 3rd we will have the opportunity to view this year's entries around the Adam Mickiewicz monument. There will be a wide range on offer with cribs from professionals and school groups alike. Later in the day a parade takes the szopki to the History Museum where the winners will be announced on the 6th. Following this there will be a nativity play performed by the family group Malik. If you're too busy, don't worry, the szopki will be on display until February.
