Brilliant. Not at the top of anyone’s list for a night of fine dining, that is not the point of Bar Smak. Instead this is a local place for local people who cram around the wooden tables to eat huge portions of well-loved standards, from cheap pierogi to excellent bigos to great big golonka. Order from the board or ask for an English menu. Set meals of soup, a side, potatoes and a main go for 16zł, meaning you can eat like a Polish king for peanuts. Open late and we love it.

Bar Smak ROCKS!!! Basic but tasty Polish food at rock bottom prices. The staff don't speak much English, but the menu is translated into Enlgish. Just go up and order, and they will bring out the food in record time. I stayed in Krakow for a month, and the food here was just as good as the traditional cooking found at much more expensive places around town.
