Formerly one of the sole cultural outposts in a neighbourhood seemingly cut off from the rest of Kraków, this charming, veteran cafe now finds itself right on the other side of the Bernatek pedestrian bridge in what is a fast-developing corner of Podgórze. Characterised by excellent coffee (available to take home by weight), cakes and salads, sleepy music and a clientele that seems oblivious to the fact that they have a beer license, Rękawka is perfect for a casual, winding conversation with a friend - or a nap. While it's this pervasive wholesomeness that makes it unique and refreshing amongst Cracovian cafes, it also inevitably leaves us reaching for a drink and more destructive company.
