A crisply designed restaurant with bedsheet white walls and table settings, an open kitchen and carefully tended shrubs guarding the doorway, Ancora puts itself forward as a smart alternative to Kraków's antique-stuffed cellars. Serving creative contemporary cuisine alongside the requisite Polish dishes and an awe-inducing 400 bottle wine list, Ancora has consistently won the accolades of many (including that Michelin bloke) and continues to be one of the city's best spots for a sophisticated dinner date.

They pay attention to the details at this place, the food is quite tasty and well made. The reason I'm not going back is because it's hideously expensive for tiny portions. Also, supposedly if you are veg, they will custom make something for you - but it amounts to just doing a veg version of something else on the menu - and not everything by any means lends itself to such transformation. So the 'custom' part is kind of disappointing. You can get much better value for money elsewhere in the city.
Ancora is an excellent restaurant with a varied menu. It is the chefs own restaurant and he is very experienced. He trains his own staff and they are very professional. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. English is spoken. Have been quite a few times now and always leave knowing Ive had a good night out..a well satisfied customer.
I come to Cracow from time to time for business and never was excited about polish restaurants, so far.Ancora was opened a year ago and offers menu based on high quality polish ingredients but doesn't miss italian, french and asian accents. Excellent choice of fine wine, bottles stored in the proper cellar and served at right temperature. And all this at really affordable prices...Worth to try when you pass by.
