Figa z Makiem

Figa z MakiemA great location for a nice, but casual and affordable meal out, Figa z Makiem delivers a surprisingly well-translated menu of rich meat and seafood mains in an interior of white-dressed wood furnishings and wood-panelled walls. Our fig-stuffed chicken with mango and pomegranite sauce (32zł) turned out to be a bit of a light meal, but was nonethelss delicious, with the poppy cake with hot fig sauce being a worthy namesake for this pleasant addition to Kraków's ceaselessly increasing culinary scene.

What a surprise! We walked in not knowing what to expect and were greeted by friendly staff, charming decor/ambience, and delicious food. In addition, the bathrooms in the basement were free and reminiscent of a cavernous wine cellar. Free is hard to come by. The prices were great. Go eat here! We ate the wild boar goulash (tasty and traditional), trout (real trout done to perfection), chicken filet with mango and pomegranate (put the mango on the side), pork tenderloin with grape sauce(authentic and delicious), and chicken with grilled veggies (simple but fulfilling). The Polish and Italian menu surely has something to meet everyone's taste buds. The soups and salads were great and the salads were huge. Our waitress was not only friendly and beautiful, but fluent in English and attentive.
