Klezmer Hois

  ul. Szeroka 6 ,   Kazimierz          (+48) 12 411 12 45     17 Nov 2023

Located in an old former mikveh - a ritual Jewish bathhouse - on ul. Szeroka, this is one of Kazimierz's most well-established restaurants, and a portal into the dusty sepia days of pre-war Poland. Serving traditional Jewish Galician dishes from the 19th century, the restaurant generally follows kosher rules, though there's no rabbinical supervision. Incredibly popular klezmer concerts (35zł) take place each evening during dinner at 20:00 - keeping the crowds amused and the wine flowing.

The homely atmosphere of this restaurant appealed to us. Very relaxing. The food was very good especially the beef and the chicken dishes.Excellent value for money. We were lucky to get a table so advisable to book. Friendly staff.

The part of the restaurant we were in was like an extra-large living room but that created a homely style atmosphere. The food was good in my opinion although as a group we agreed that it was nothing startling. The live music consisted of a 3 piece band with a female vocalist and they were exceptionally good. Worth a visit.
