In a town that should be admonished for its awful Mexican food, Alebriche happily has almost nothing in common with its competition, and here's the simple difference: it's actually owned and operated by a local Mexican family (gasp!). Developing a cult following since its opening, Alebriche sends expats into ecstasy with its simple, authentic, dirt-cheap Mexican eats. The menu includes everything from huevos rancheros to flan, with spicy soups, tamales, proper chicken mole and more in between. In addition to margaritas and micheladas, this is the only place in town where you can get horchata (our fave). A simple, but bright, colourful interior full of photos and folk art confirms that the focus is on food - so good you'll be coming back until you've tried everything on the menu. Recommended.

Alebriche Comments

  • woaw!!!What a find, real mexican mole outside Mexico. We had a lovely meal, great food ,lovely chat with the staff, wonderful. We will be back.
  • Having been deprived of real mexican food for three months, Albriche was a treat! The Enchiladas Verdes were very good, though not as spicy as I would have liked. The guac was perfect, just as I would make it myself. Horchata is very good too!!! I will be going back here for breakfast in the am!
  • Slowly working my way through the menu.. Lunch today the green enchiladas.. I dont know where they get the tomatillos for the sauce but it had just the right tartness to it served with fluffy homemade corn torillas drenched in the sauce and covered with shredded chicken and cheese.. order a side of the house chile paste... An unusual and savory blend of spicy ground chiles and peanuts slow and subtle at first it is followed by a mellow after-kick with sneaky authority ..Heat the way it should be!
  • Mexican food finally REALLY comes to Krakow! Nothing else like it in town or any other town in Poland...!
