Museum of the Armed Act [Muzeum Czynu Zbrojnego]

An astonishing museum that doesn’t translate into English very well, find inside a series of dusty rooms several touching exhibits dedicated to those who fought and died for their nation and who were born in the Nowa Huta area. In Polish only, most things on display might not mean much to those lacking a healthy interest in the detritus and paraphernalia of war, but it’s well worth popping in if only for a look at the intriguing and grotesque models of life under the Nazis during WWII. You'll know you've found it when you see the Soviet tank out front. Be aware that from July 21 to August 18 the museum closes down for a summer break.

Admission free.
