St. Andrew's offers the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Kraków. It was built between 1079 and 1098 and has been a place of worship for 900 years. The church was used as a refuge and fortress during the first raid of Kraków by the Tartars. Walking inside is therefore disappointing since most of the relics have been looted. Baldassare Fontana remodelled the interior during the mad-for-all-things-Baroque 18th century. Note the pulpit which resembles a boat, typical of the Baroque style.
