Ghetto Wall Fragment

ul. Limanowskiego 62 ,   Podgórze         more than a year ago
Though less visible and less visited than the ghetto wall fragment on ul. Lwowska, this section of the original wall is longer and arguably more evocative. Discretely located in the small park beside the public high school at ul. Limanowskiego 60/62, the juxtaposition of playground equipment directly in front of a symbol of the Holocaust is truly striking. Though once in a state of crumbling disrepair, the wall has been recently patched up and restored. Those looking to continue their alternative tour of the area can try to climb the steep trail leading from the back of the playground, which leads straight up to the Old Podgórze Cemetery, to the right from which is the abandoned Fort Benedict and Lasota Hill.
