Keja

There’s an almost gothic feel to Keja, a brick walled venue featuring mysterious side rooms. Juxtaposed against this some nautical extras, including a rusty anchor and webbings of fish nets. Then, amid all the lanterns and extras, find a range of guitars attached to the walls. Yes, it’s a strange venue alright, and one that gets pleasantly boisterous once the bands take the stage. No attitudes, no pretence, Keja represents all the good things in Łódź.

Love this place. Where else would you get Polish shanty music but here. Sorry Jack but loved the music. As for waiters guess what I walked up to the bar and got my beer in as much time as it takes to say jedno piwo poprosze. Beats all the usual cliched stuff you get in plastic bars. This is different and well worth exploring. Live music here too.

Service is actually really okey and nice. We had just bad luck with one waiter which wasnt really nice and was behaving like last idiot. Generally i can recommend this place it is not really expensive and atmosphere is ok. One disatvantage is repeatig all the time the same music. Nah.

Tried this place fairly early on a Friday night. It was pretty quiet then, just as the band was arriving and setting themselves up. Nice vibe to the place, number 12 tram in the direction of Kaliska and alight at Lakowa. I will definitely be going back.
