Shopping in Lodz

Shopping in Lodz

Shopping in Łódź centres on three main areas of the city: the traditional thoroughfare of Piotrkowska, the modern shopping centre in the south of the city centre (Galeria Łódźka), and the brand new shopping heaven that has opened up inside the Manufaktura complex.

Some of the streets running parallel to Piotrkowska, including ul. Sienkiewicza, are good for specialist shops, such as antiques and paintings. Indeed, whisper it in Warsaw, but Łódź may in fact be Poland’s top shopping destination.
Piotrkowska has long been the commercial heart of Łódź, though for some time now there has been a tendency for shops to move away, and for restaurants, cafes and bars to move in. As a result there are now more eating and drinking than retail opportunities on the strip, but there are still plenty of specialist shops and boutiques along its four kilometre length to keep shoppers happy.
The real shopping heart of Łódź has now been split between the Galeria at one end of Piotrkowska, and the Manufaktura complex at the other end
You should also not forego the chance to visit the city’s flea market, held every Sunday on ul. Andrzejewski (between Lodowa and Puszkina) from early morning to 2-3pm. You can buy anything here, and we mean anything.
